  • 750,000 Euro for Combatting the infringement of human rights and discrimination against Roma 

The objectives of this Call are:

  • To enforce human rights advocacy and watchdog role of NGOs on human rights and equal treatment for all, gender equality issues and combatting gender-based violence;
  • To increase awareness of citizens on their rights, along with their capacity to identify, report and challenge discrimination, hate speech in public space, human rights violations, harmful institutional practices, as well as gaps in legislation and law enforcement.

The Call is launched under the Programme Outcome 2 - CSOs actively defend human rights and promote equal treatment and covers two areas of support of the Active Citizens Fund in Romania, „Human rights and equal treatment through combating any discrimination on the grounds of racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity” and „Gender equality and gender-based violence”.

Eligible applicants are exclusively legally established Romanian non-governmental and non-profit organizations (NGOs) Romanian non-governmental and non-profit organizations (NGOs).

Project grant rate can be up to 100% of the total eligible costs of the project.

Eligible projects tackle human rights in the context of nowadays challenges in fostering democracy, reducing poverty and shifting perceptions to a rights-based approach in different areas.

There are also eligible projects that provide services to people at risk of or affected by discrimination and human rights violations, including gender-based violence.

There are strongly encouraged partnerships with other public/private entities.

Measures to combat the infringement of human rights and discrimination against Roma and interventions related to gender equality and gender-based violence represents a special focus.
