Call #2 – Civic education and engagement

In case the total value of the budget (grant + co-financing) exceeds the maximum amount allowed for the selected type of grant, please DO NOT take into account the message The maximum amount allowed for the selected type of grant you want to apply is exceeded, if all other messages are“OK”, in the Correlations+Limitations worksheet.

The objective of this Call is to increase citizens’ education on civic and human rights and help them in exercising/ enforcing their rights.

The Call is launched under the Programme Outcome 1 Strengthened democratic culture and civic awareness and covers two areas of support of the Active Citizens Fund in Romania, respectively „Democracy, active citizenship, good governance and transparency” and „Environment and climate change”.

Eligible applicants are exclusively legally established Romanian non-governmental and non-profit organizations (NGOs).

Project grant rate can be up to 90% of the total eligible costs of the project.

Eligible projects address together civic and human rights in educational programmes to maximize understanding and applicability of knowledge acquired.  

Media literacy initiatives are strongly encouraged, especially if they support young citizens to develop critical thinking and to be responsible news producers/consumers.

There are also strongly encouraged partnerships with other NGOs active in the same or in other complementary fields of activity, as well as with other stakeholders.

Using innovative ways that can foster the engagement and empower the communities is also encouraged.
