The objective of this Call is is to develop NGOs’ capacity to achieve sustainability in a changing social and economic context while having a strong impact in the communities they serve.
The Call is launched under the Programme Outcome 4 - Enhanced capacity and sustainability of civil society (organisations and the sector) and covers two areas of concern of the Active Citizens Fund in Romania, respectively “Strengthening the capacity and sustainability of the civil society sector” and “Improve outreach to under served geographic areas and target groups”.
Eligible applicants are exclusively legally established Romanian non-governmental and non-profit organizations (NGOs) Romanian non-governmental and non-profit organizations (NGOs).
Project grant rate can be up to 100% of the total eligible costs of the project.
There are supported strategic projects, proposed by experienced NGOs, providing support mainly to NGOs from/working in underserved geographic areas and/or in underserved thematic areas in their efforts to develop their sustainability and increase their efficiency/ impact.
Targeted NGOs (new/ unexperienced, from/ working in underserved geographic areas and/ or in underserved thematic areas) will develop their organizational capacity in key areas: good governance, transparency, effective management procedures, diversifying funding sources, communication and visibility, monitoring and evaluation, using evidence in planning process and advocacy etc. Moreover, targeted NGOs will be supported to better use external capacities by learning from other NGOs, facilitating interlinking or networking with other relevant stakeholders (authorities, business, media, etc.), learning from the communities they serve.
Likewise, the experienced NGOs NGOs (Applicants/Partners) should develop their capacity to provide direct and long term support to new/ unexperienced NGOs through structured capacity building programmes, short and medium term strategies to support NGOs sector in underserved areas, strategic partnerships for strengthening NGOs sector etc.
