Call #4.1 – Awareness on human rights and equal treatment for refugees fleeing Ukraine

The objectives of this Call are:

• to provide support for refugees fleeing Ukraine, victims/at risk of discrimination on human rights infringement and/or
• to enhance awareness on human rights/equal treatment of refugees fleeing Ukraine..

The Call is launched under the Programme Outcome 2 – CSOs actively defend human rights and promote equal treatment and covers two areas of support of the Active Citizens Fund in Romania, “Human rights and equal treatment through combating any discrimination on the grounds of racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity” and “Gender equality and gender-based violence”.

Eligible applicants are exclusively legally established Romanian non-governmental and non-profit organizations (NGOs) that have implemented or are currently implementing a project financed through Active Citizens Fund Romania, as project promoter or partner.

Project grant rate can be up to 100% of the total eligible costs of the project.

Eligible projects will support NGOs to provide assistance to refugees fleeing Ukraine that are at risk / victims of human rights violations, to enhance awareness on human rights and equal treatment of refugees, while ensuring a special focus on gender equality and gender-based violence (GBV).  

There are also encouraged  watchdog initiatives that identify gaps in legislation and law enforcement related to gender equality and GBV or its enforcement, especially in the context of the humanitarian crisis.

There are strongly encouraged partnerships with more experienced NGOs, as well as with other public/private entities.
