Based on the successful results obtained in the past, when the previous NGO Fund significantly facilitated mutual learning and understanding among Romanian and donor state organisations, the new Active Citizens Fund Romania programmerelies on lessons learned and focuses on enhancing sustainable partnerships in areas where the expertise of organisations is most effectively capitalized for the benefit of the civil society.
In this regard, we are pleased to announce and invite Romanian and donor states (Norway and Iceland) organisations to our international event – the #humanrightsforall thematic seminar organized in Bucharest, Romania on February 11 - 14, 2020,organized under the Fund for Bilateral Relations.
The main idea of this event is to bring together human rights organizations or those who are interested in developing their skills in human rights approaches in order to better understand the needs and how they can be covered through structured interventions within ACF Romania. The seminar will have several priorities:
- To inform the organizations in Romania and the donor states about the financing directions related to human rights within the ACF Romania;
- To create a context of dialogue between Romanian and donor states organizations that will generate ideas for concentrated and efficient human rights related interventions within the ACF Romania;
- To facilitate contact and discussions on opportunities for cooperation and development of partnerships for human rights projects between representatives of entities in donor states and NGOs in Romania.
The thematic focus envisaged for discussions and cooperation will be in line with the specific areas of support covered by the ACF Romania, namely Human rights and equal treatment through combating any discrimination on the grounds of racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity; Social justice and inclusion of vulnerable groups; Gender equality and gender-based violence.
In this regard, following a selection process, we intend to invite approx. 30 representatives from Romanian non-governmental organizations interested in the subject of the seminar and in developing partnerships with entities from Norway and Iceland on issues mentioned below and to submit applications within the ACF Romania Call for Proposals.
During the event, we will focus specifically on human rights issues in 4 working groups with the following topics:
- Gender equality
- LGBTQ+
- Roma
- Social services from the perspective of a human rights approach
