We continue our series of #Impact3 interviews!
This time we spoke with Dora Cerin - project manager of the "Cu Alte Cuvinte" Association. She shared with us some of the results she had after going through the Impact3 programme, but also the challenges she faced.
What did you decide to give up or change about measuring and communicating impact after participating in IMPACT3?
We decided to move away from the overuse of buzzwords in communication to a more fact-based and factual approach. We also decided to drop the concept of "7 in 1 work" and bring more specialists on board to help us communicate impact.
What have you decided to start doing in terms of impact measurement and communication after participating in IMPACT3?
We started a rebranding process and started to measure the impact in a more serious way, at a detailed level. We are now focusing on online indicators and specific projects. We have also started to listen more closely to feedback from people who come into contact with our projects and have created a survey to better capture their needs and motivations. We better understood the importance of visibility in the media, and this led us to work with communication specialists to increase our impact and visibility. We decided to participate in other programmes involving NGOs to exchange knowledge and meet other specialists to grow as an organisation.
What have you decided needs to continue in terms of measuring and communicating impact after participation in the programme?
We continue to pay special attention to data privacy and right to image. We are committed to collecting and using data ethically and comply with data protection regulations. We also continue to develop the same types of projects, but we approach them with more attention to impact and with data that helps us to be more connected with our audience.
3 reasons why you recommend other NGOs to participate in IMPACT3?
There are three reasons why we would recommend other NGOs to participate in IMPACT3. Firstly, this programme helps you realise that you can do things much better than you think and be more effective. Secondly, the content of the programme is excellent and applicable, you don't just leave with theory. Thirdly, you can network with experienced participants and learn from them, which is very valuable for the development of your organisation.
